A cup of, fresh ground fresh roasted-in-Brooklyn-three-days-ago, Stumptown coffee made with our prototype Fetco 2021 brewer and then so many choices : a Verde Salad w/ mixed greens and tomatoes or a Pianura Salad w/ mixed greens, fennel, orange and pine nuts. Or choose the Pomodoro soup made using our homeade L’asso Sauce. Plus any one of 5 Panini’s of your choice. The Tonna Panini, seen here, has Italian tuna, red onion, parmesan, capers, arugula and lemon pepper oil. Friday, April 16th, 2010Mela Pizza, Verde Salad and a Kulmbacher Pilsner: a light way to enjoy the day
Tuesday, March 16th, 2010What a lunch: The Mela PIzza topped with apples, asparagus, gorgonzola and truffle oil; A Verde Salad (mixed greens, tomato, large pitted green olives, olive oil and vinegar) with pine nuts, and a crisp floral Kulmbacher Pilsner from the tap. It’s sunny out, the windows are open and things are feeling really good.
Oh snap 6 beers on Tap.
Friday, March 12th, 2010Come and enjoy a fine brew from our constantly rotating taps. We are always getting new and excited beers here at L’asso. This weeks new arrival is Sixpoint Brewery’s Gorilla Warfare Coffee Porter. Our resident brew guide Tom “The Wild Cicerone” has this to say: “Gorilla Warfare Porter is a smooth porter with hints of chocolate and combined with Park Slopes very own Gorilla Coffee. (Ethiopian Yergacheffe blend, a Fair Trade and Organic Certified coffee) This collaboration makes for a deliciously smooth unique coffee-filled porter. Caution this beer does tend to sneak up on you, at a nicely hidden 8%. Pairs well with any red and spiced meats.”
So come give it a try and have a delicious pint paired with an amazing pie.

“These photographs were taken during the month of March in 2009 during Morrissey’s Year Of Refusal Tour. The pages of this book include images from his performances at The Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, New Jersey, in New York City at The Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall, and Carnegie Hall, and at the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. I also made it to Buffalo, New York for his show at The University at Buffalo’s Center for the Arts but I ended up drinking a bit much and I basically blacked out for that one.

‘the wild Cicerone’
Thursday, February 25th, 2010
We have a special guest visiting us this month at L’asso and teaching us all about beer. Thomas Barris, L’asso Cicerone (The word Cicerone is used to designate those with expertise in selecting, acquiring and serving today’s wide range of beers, similar to what a sommelier is in the wine world) is at L’asso every weekday during lunch in March to drink and talk BEER.
Some current beers on tap: Kulmbacher Pilzner, Sixpoint Bengali Tiger IPA, South Hampton Double White.
